Lac La Belle lies within the boundaries of the City of Oconomowoc, the Village of Lac La Belle, and the Town of Oconomowoc.  It is one of the larger
of the Lake Country Lakes and a great family lake.  It is located about 35 miles west of Milwaukee and about 50 miles east of Madison.  Lac La Belle
is a wonderful lake for all watersports and fishing.  City Beach is a popular place to take the kids to enjoy those lazy summer days, enjoy an evening
concert at the bandshell, and ice skate and play hockey in the winter.  Nearby Spinnakers restaurant offers boater access.

This lake has a number of historical properties and there is a historical walking tour around parts of Lac La Belle and Fowler Lake.  From the 1870s
through the 1930s this is the area where the wealthy from Chicago, St. Louis and Milwaukee built their lavish summer homes and was known as
Newport of the West.
