| Oconomowoc is considered one of the most prestigious and upscale lakes in the area. Gently sloping shorelines frame the hard-bottom sand frontage and the water is very clear. Grand homes built in a bygone era mix with expansive, newer construction homes. The Oconomowoc Lake Club, founded in 1890, is one of the country's oldest yacht clubs. Technically there is a public access at Upper Oconomowoc Lake via the Oconomowoc River, however it takes quite a bit of initiative to even get a canoe or small boat down the river and onto the lake. Anglers will find Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Musky, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass and Walleye here. |
